An international employee’s world is already filled with big changes – and preparing for a baby might just be one of the biggest. But if the latest product rollout from AGB is any indication, it seems like expecting members are in for an easier transition than ever before.
In fact, AGB has just given birth to the second phase of Aetna Global Health Connections – which includes a greater clinical focus on international maternity management, along with other program perks such as a global partnership with Weight Watchers®.
Beyond the basics
In the first phase of our maternity program, AGB explored “the basics” – providing foundational information on topics like nutrition, exercise and dental health – to help mothers prepare for the journey ahead.
Now, our newly launched International Maternity Management Program takes it one step further, providing helpful tools, resources and clinical solutions that can both ease and enhance the pregnancy, delivery and welcoming processes. It specifically provides:
- A high-risk pregnancy survey tool for tailored support based on specific health care needs
- Information to prepare members and their families for every stage of pregnancy
- Support from our International Health Advisory Team (IHAT) of dedicated nurses
Personalized, targeted education
As you can see, information isn’t just a part – but the heart – of the program. IHAT employs an investigative approach to gathering member information through a pregnancy risk survey. Survey responses will help the clinical team guide expecting members through the right precautions toward healthy pregnancies and deliveries. Additionally, based on these responses, members could receive further tools and resources to combat factors that lead to high-risk pregnancies, including:
- Depression
- Drug cessation
- Alcohol use
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- HIV
Members can complete the questionnaire over the phone with IHAT or on their own time.
A maternity library
As always, expecting members can find pregnancy information right on our Wellness Center, located at www.aetnaglobalbenefits.com. In addition to maternity education, they’ll also find helpful information on dealing with diabetes, asthma and coronary artery disease. AGB has plans to expand the library over time, so members can always check back to find something new!
An eye on weight management, too
Another tough transition, for almost everyone, is effective weight management. Eating right and maintaining a healthy weight directly affect an individual’s well-being. With this in mind, AGB is pleased to offer savings on Weight Watchers, a trusted name in safe and sensible weight loss, to our members! Through our partnership, we are offering three plans to help members achieve and maintain a healthy body weight for the long term:
- Weight Watchers local meeting vouchers
> For AGB members in the U.S. only*
- Weight Watchers at-home kit - deluxe edition
> For AGB members to purchase while in the U.S.*
(employees can purchase before they leave on assignment)
- Weight Watchers online subscription
> For AGB members to purchase anywhere in the world
Additionally, to help members achieve their weight-loss goals and improve their overall health, AGB is offsetting the cost for them to join Weight Watchers by 20 percent. AGB is also offering an additional 50 percent cost reimbursement, up to $70, for simply participating in a Weight Watchers plan for a minimum of 10 weeks!**
For more information or to enroll in the program, members can log on to the secure AGB member website at www.aetnaglobalbenefits.com and select “Resources” then “Wellness Center”.
*Available only in participating areas throughout the U.S. Minimum enrollment required. Product substitutions may be necessary based on availability.
